Cincinnati Boychoir: Celebrating Boys in Song!
The Cincinnati Boychoir will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in March of 2025 and this historic organization has much to celebrate! Composed of boys and young men, ages 8 to 18, the Cincinnati Boychoir program focuses on the fun and joy of male voices singing together while also supporting the personal growth and superior musicianship of each individual singer. Boychoir members rehearse twice weekly at the Aronoff Center for the Performing Arts in ensembles ranging from beginning to advanced. The Cincinnati Boychoir performs regularly throughout the year in Cincinnati, including performances at Cincinnati Music Hall. The Boychoir also tours yearly, with Nashville, Chicago and New Orleans being recent destinations.
The theme of this year’s November Showcase is Celebrating Boys in Song! The program will include pieces that specifically celebrate the power of music and singing in our lives as well as selections chosen and sung by the boys that we hope will move, inspire and excite the listener. The performance will feature all of the Cincinnati Boychoir ensembles – from the voices of the angelic boy trebles to the rich, changed voices of the high school tenors and basses. Some of the composers represented in the program will be Michael John Trotta, Bryan Sharpe, Jacob Narverud and Rollo Dilworth. The concert will be conducted by Lisa Peters, Director of the Cincinnati Boychoir. She will be joined by Boychoir staff accompanist, Sara Cahall and guest violinist, Vincent Phelan.
