Some say a musician’s special sound is made up of all the music they’ve experienced over their lifetime. Cincinnati legend Dixie Karas feels lucky to have grown up and lived her life in the Queen City, where so many fabulous musicians play nearly every style and genre. Not unlike the folks at Skyline chili who won’t reveal the secret recipe, Dixie walks her listeners you through all the musical spices that make up her special sound.

Following a dynamite debut in 2023, Memorial Hall proudly returns its November – December Jazz at the Memo series. Playing Monday nights in November and December 2023, the series begins with four “everyday” jazz programs featuring creative programs the finest of Cincinnati’s thriving jazz scene. After Thanksgiving, haul out the holly for three stunning re-creations of classic jazz Christmas albums, featuring music by Doris Day, the Rat Pack and Vince Guaraldi’s beloved “Charlie Brown Christmas.”
